Well, I was looking at my tires before I get an alignment and I'm thinking that the outside edges are going to be too worn on 2 of my tires. Looking online the shop has 3 tires in the price range I can afford: Kelly Charger GT, Goodyear Instinct VR, and Dunlop Direzza DZ102. The Kelly's are $15 cheaper, but are they alright? Is Dunlop any good?
I've never really focused on tires before, and a quick search shows these as a decent deal for something I need now. (My safety check is due and so is my registration).

I've heard good things about Dunlop Direzzas, buy check tire rack to see if they have anything to say about those options.
Also given the wear you described, consider maintaining your tire pressures a little more diligently.

It's actually probably from a curb I didn't notice about a month ago. I was looking at the curb near the car I was pulling in behind and I didn't notice that a tree had broken the curb out about 4 inches into the road. I found it with my tire though. It is possibly from tire pressure, but I'm in Hawaii so temp doesn't affect pressure much and I check them about every 3-4 weeks (about 400-600 miles).
Thank you for the advice on tire rack.

Ive had a set of the older direzzas. Not a bad tire at all. Been a while so doubt its the exact model but zero complaints here. Looks like a fellow oppo asked this a while back maybe reply and see if they went with them.

if it is just parking on a broken curb, that wouldn't cause irregular tire wear.
your wording isn't completely clear, is the wear only high on one outside edge of each tire? that would indicate an alignment issue, toe or camber.

Hence the going for an alignment. ;) It's been a year since the last alignment so it needed it.
I've looked at them a bit closer and its developed a camber issue as well.
And I didn't park on a broken curb, I scraped the edge that was sticking out at an angle. Jolted the car a bit and scraped the rim a bit. The rims had been curbed when i bought the car so...
I guess that was ambiguous about the outside edges. I meant the outside facing edges of both front tires. Though, you were also right about tire pressure. My left front has gone a little low since I last checked.

doesn't matter anyway. The internet evidently lied about that store having my three options in stock.

ha, I forgot the first line of your post on my second time back here, whoops. Good call.
Oh, so it gashed your side walls, ouch!
How bad was it? If you're checking once a month I doubt that was the problem. Furthermore, unless your car is consistently heavily loaded you won't see much difference in wear unless your off by more than 5 psi.
